90 Year Old Woman Finds Deceased WWII Marine’s Diary Addressed to Her

Laura Mae Davis, a 90 year old woman, recently went to the National World War II Museum in New Orleans to see a display commemorating her high school sweetheart, Cpl. Thomas Jones, who was killed by a sniper in Japan. But what she found was incredible: Jones’ diary which included his last life request to give the diary to Davis.
“I didn’t have any idea there was a diary in there,” she said. She was brought to tears when she saw it.
Included in the diary was a picture of Laura Mae that Thomas had kept with him at all times.

Woman Does the Cutest Things With Backyard Squirrels

Nancy Rose noticed something about the squirrels in her backyard – they became very tame. Once they got used to Nancy and her little treats for them, she decided to take things to an all new level of awesome (or maybe ridiculousness :) ). She started setting up props that, when they play on them, would create the cutest little scene ever. Here are the photos.

This Before and After Dog Rescue Picture is Incredible

We don’t know much about this picture other than the fact that someone out there deserves a big THANK YOU for taking this stray, diseased dog in…and giving him a second chance on life. There’s still goodness in the world.

Hand Painting Art

Scrolling Down This Post Was Like, “Oh, Cool.” Then “Wow…” And Then “Are You Serious?!”

There are many different mediums artists can use to express themselves. Guido Daniele, for instance, chooses to use something that most of us have ourselves. Instead of buying canvas or paper, he paints hands. A gallery that includes some of his work was posted online, stunning users. It’s hard to believe what you will be seeing is something as simple as a painted hand:

Amazing Dog Adopts an Orphan Chimp

This story will make you think about animals in a totally different way. Some people too often think they are “just animals” and not capable of the same feelings and emotions as us. This story goes to show that that is so far from the truth and, in fact, animals seem to care more than many humans.
This baby chimp’s mother died at a zoo, so one of the caretakers took him home to help out. What she NEVER imagined was that her dog would take the chimp under his paw and adopt him. These pictures are awesome.

14 Guilty Dogs Caught in the Act – But Still So Cute

Dogs always seem to know when they’ve done something wrong. Now if only they could reason things out BEFOREHAND, maybe they wouldn’t always indulge. :) But either way, these 14 (well, let’s say 13…you’ll see why later) dogs were busted, but we love them all anyway.

14 Photos That Will Warm Your Heart

Sometimes a photographer – professional or amateur – gets a shot that moves the world to tears. Whether it be something incredible happening in nature or a tragedy such as that on September 11th, there’s no denying the power of photography. They capture moments forever. The following 14 photos are some that we felt were so moving and heartwarming that they should be posted in one place.

I Thought I Had Seen Everything… Then I Went Back To The 1930s And Saw This.

Every product that we use day-to-day had to come from somewhere. Even as something as simple as a telephone had countless versions that were created and tested. You might not realize, though, that there were other inventions throughout history that didn’t quite make the cut like the telephone did. A Reddit user found some of these old-timey (and sometimes frighteningly awesome) inventions and shared them. I would buy most of these. Immediately.

Artists Do Something Incredible to Help the Homeless

When you see a homeless person on the street, what do you think?
Many people judge them for their situation; they jump to conclusions when they don’t even know the person. Signs for the Homeless is a group of artists that are dedicated to helping the homeless. They want to give them money, make them feel heard and make them feel like a part of the community.
Each week, the group sits down with a homeless person and listens to their story. Then, they make a donation in exchange for the person’s handwritten sign. The artists then make a beautiful, custom sign for them to help them with their efforts.

A 5-Month-Old Baby Gorilla Needed Some Motherly Love. Where She Got It Is Beautiful.

The San Francisco Zoo recently welcomed a new baby gorilla to the world, and she’s adorable. The now 5-month old baby gorilla was named Kabibe, which means ‘little lady’ in Swahili.
The zoo has been carefully transitioning her care from the staff over to her western lowland gorilla family, and although her mother Nneka is doing just fine the matriarch grandma Bawang has jumped right into action as the infant’s adoptive mother, supervising her introductions to the other gorillas in the troop (something she also did for big brother Hasani, who is five-years-old now).
The San Francisco Zoo President, Tanya Peterson, had this to say:
Once again, Bawang has taken on the huge responsibility of motherhood and has set a positive tone for the troop. We feel very blessed to be able to contribute to the population of this critically endangered species and we feel especially grateful to introduce the entire gorilla family to the public during this holiday season.
Kabibe snuggles in her grandmother’s loving embrace.

He Gave His 84 Year Old Grandma An iPad. When He Returned 30 Minutes Later, She Had Done THIS.

When a user on Reddit decided to surprise his grandma with a new iPad, this is probably the last thing he expected to happen. Here’s what he said:
Bought my Grandma an iPad. She’s 84 and never had a tablet, and wanted it for “art.” I bought ArtRage for her and left her alone with her new toy for 30 minutes. This is what I came back to.

It is a great self portrait!

Like one person said on the original post, “Admit it. You bought your Grandma a mirror.”

One thing is certain: Grandma has got some skills. Share this with others and make her day.

A Puppy Was Raised By A Loving Human. Her Brother Was Not. How They Came Back Together Is Beautiful.

The day his little puppy was born was one of the best days of this man’s life. He was eager to name her and take her home and start their life together. Soon after adoption, though, he realized he might not be able to have one dog…
Instead, he’d need to have two.
